“Being a hero doesn’t mean you’re invincible. It just means that you’re brave enough to stand up and do what’s needed.” – Rick Riordan
Noah talked in his post today about real heroes. He spoke about the women and men that serve and have served this country to the benefit of all of us. These people have sacrificed of themselves to allow the rest of us to live in a manner that others around the world aren’t afforded. For that, we should all be eternally grateful. I am. Thank you. (Special thank you to my Papaw, Winn Hensley for his service in the US Navy.)
We can all be heroes.
We can help someone in need.
We can give selflessly.
We can be there for someone who needs us.
We can step up to the plate to defend those who can’t defend themselves.
Unlike those amazing folks in uniform, we can be a hero for someone without making the enormous sacrifices they have made. All it really takes is the ability to remove yourself from the equation and ask what you can do for somebody else. We all get bogged down with our own crap. It’s inevitable. It’s so easy to be blinded by your own problems that you become blind to anything and anyone else.
I can say this with relative certainty: someone needs you.
Step up. Be a hero.
Have an awesome Monday,
